Sitting up
Look at our little angel :)

Yummy, bananas, Ari's first real food

Ari's getting bigger and stronger everyday. Our latest developmental milestone is sitting up. She does really well by herself on the floor.
Look at our big girl!

She's almost got it, but sometimes Daddy has to catch her.

and sometimes we don't catch her quite in time. She was a little bit hurt but more upset with mommy and daddy, "why didn't you catch me?!?!?"

proof that she's okay, but it took her a while to come around.

Benny the Beaver
This was a really funny series of pictures from last week. Ari was in her high chair watching me make dinner and playing with some toys, including Benny the Beaver. He ended up in the trash can and Daddy, the big OSU fan, was asking her how she could do such a thing. This was her response:
Indifference......

Denial. Someone over there did it.

6 Months
Ari is six months old today! I can't believe how fast the last six months have gone and how much Ari has grown up. Here is one of her first pictures:
Ari's been learning and growing like crazy. She's 26 inches long and in the 75th percentile for her age. (Can you say basketball scholarship?) This past week we've been working on sitting up. She's almost got it. She can sit up well on someone's lap, see below, and almost do it by herself on the floor.
She's also become kind of a mama's girl. Daddy gets to spend lots of time with her after work because he gets off a little bit earlier and picks her up from the babysitter. I think by then she's had her dada fix and is ready for mommy and the food. She loves playing with my hair, especially when it's wet, and necklaces, and earrings. Here she is cuddling while getting ready for bedtime.

This picture is somewhat of an afterthought. We wanted a picture of her on her actual six-month birthday, however she had her doctor's appointment today and had to get her shots. Between the exhaustion of the crying and the medicine because she had a slight fever, she was a little out of it. we'll try for a cuter picture tomorrow.

And of course, I had to throw this one in there. She's been really interested in Batman lately. He's a scardy cat, so he rarely goes near anyone but me and definitely stays away from young children. Ari loved touching his soft fur and we're working on being gentle. Batman didn't really enjoy it, but he was a good kitty and let Ari touch and pull for a while. Don't worry, she's not actually eating him, even though that's how it looks, and we all washed our hands really well after petting the cat.

First Bite
We gave Ari her first solids over the weekend. Here she is in her new high chair, notice batty in the background checking things out.

The first bite!

And all the funny faces:

We've done a few feedings since the first one and Ari is doing great. She's getting used to the spoon and the taste of cereal. We'll keep you updated on how the introduction of fruits and veggies goes this weekend.
