Happy Baby!

Ari started smiling back at us last week. It is so adorable! She's the happiest when she wakes up in the morning. We haven't got any really good pictures, but here are some so you can get the idea:

Go Zags! Go Beavs!

Today we took Ari to her first collegiate athletic event, a Gonzaga vs. Oregon State baseball game. We decided that it could not have worked out any better...her first event included both our favorite teams. She wore her beavers hat and Gonzaga socks to make it fair. We have a variety of other OSU and GU clothing, but shes still a little small.

The game was a little chilly, so we had to get all bundled up. She was a tad fussy for a while. Auntie C and I tried to convince Daddy that the hat was making me fussy, but he refused to take it off. She calmed down pretty quick, so we must have been wrong.

Once she calmed down, she slept the whole time.

Week 6

We had some visitors today: my cousins kids Caden, who's 3, and Kaitlin, who's 10 months . My aunt watches them during the day. They were really excited to see Ari again and play with her toys. Kaitlin loves babies, so she was especially enthralled with her. Caden just wanted to watch scooby doo. As you can see, Ari wasn't really comfortable with Caden holding her, even though he was being very gentle.

so we tried another picture in the boppy. It almost worked but Ari is yawning. Pretty good effort out of kids under three.
Caden bought over his Batman cape to play with my Batcat. It was pretty cute. At one point my aunt was trying to get his attention and said "hey, Batman". Caden turned around and lifted his mask and said "it's just me gramma!" Kids are cute.
daddy and ari
here we are at auntie C's track meet...Ari's in the sling. she slept the whole time, even when we were yelling for auntie C. I think she's used to the yelling from my coaching during my last two trimesters.
Daddy likes this picture because she's doing the hula
This is how i eat most of my meals. i usually have to change her clohtes because i spill on her.
The cat is starting to warm up to her. He is still a little unsure when she wails, but he likes to keep her in his sights. When she is in the swing he sits on the couch to look at her, but his new favorite spot is at the end of the chair when i'm nursing or eating with her in my lap. Today the three of us took a nap together.

Grammy Shower

Grammy OB's work was incredibly generous and threw her a 'Grammy Shower' so she would be well equipped to babysit anytime. The whole family really appreciates this...Grammy likes to see Ari and Mommy and Daddy love to have good babysitters. She got lots of great gear and we might just let her try it out this weekend.

Ari and I went to the shower, and of course she was the star of the show. Grammy is a early childhood educator, so naturally they love babies. Ari was passed around while she was passed out, as usual.

Fun, Family Weekend

As did much of the northwest, we had a warm weekend for the first time in what seems like 9 months. We also had some visitors from the west side of the state, so we made the most of it. On Friday, we went for a family walk. Ari slept most of the time, but when she did get fussy the only thing that would calm her down were the bumps in the road. when we got to the park we just walked on the grass to give her a more exciting (or soothing? ) ride.

And we took some fun pictures. Daddy was calming her down and she fell asleep in his hands.
